Iceberg Watching Tour

Icebergs, some in excess of a thousand years old, can be found in the waters of Notre Dame Bay.

It is not uncommon to be able spot in excess of 40 'bergs' in the iceberg Alley found just off the coast of Fogo Island.

Photographers, tourists, and locals alike will delight in the opportunity to get up close to these incredible wonders.

The icebergs that are calved from the glaciers of Greenland drift into Baffin Bay and the Labrador Sea. They follow the Labrador Current until south of the Grand Banks where they encounter the Gulf Stream and eventually melt.

Large Icebergs can tower from 45 to more than 75 meters (150-more than 240 ft) and are considered to be 7-8 times larger under water than what is visible above water.
